The impact of our work
We launched in 2020, 1 week into the national lockdown and in our first year we successfully completed just over 100 legal cases.
Last year that number grew to over 600. We have also trained almost 3,000 people in social care law. And over 25,000 people have now accessed our free digital service, AccessAva.
Today, our team of over 45 works tirelessly to uphold the rights of people with unmet care needs.

How we’ve supported people

We secured waking night support for a gentleman dying of cancer after it was refused by the local authority.

We prevented a local authority from cutting 4 people’s care packages by 50% - protecting their wellbeing and their support worker’s jobs

We secured an uplift of direct payments for a group of people in receipt of care in the community.

We prevented local authorities from moving people into older person’s homes when they failed to carry out best interest assessments or appoint advocates.

We prevented a local authority from imposing an unlawful policy that prevented people from accessing direct payments.

We secured several discharges for people with a learning disability experiencing inhumane treatment in in-patient units.
