How we’ve supported people

  • We secured waking night support for a gentleman dying of cancer after it was refused by the local authority.

  • We prevented a local authority from cutting 4 people’s care packages by 50% - protecting their wellbeing and their support worker’s jobs

  • We secured an uplift of direct payments for a group of people in receipt of care in the community.

  • We prevented local authorities from moving people into older person’s homes when they failed to carry out best interest assessments or appoint advocates.

  • We prevented a local authority from imposing an unlawful policy that prevented people from accessing direct payments.

  • We secured several discharges for people with a learning disability experiencing inhumane treatment in in-patient units.
