Shaping the Future of Social Care Data

Last week at The Pears Hub, we brought together partners and colleagues from across the social care sector to help shape the next phase of Access Social Care’s data work.

Our Data Portal MVP has been a strong first step, offering insights into how social care advice and rights play out across the country. But we know there’s room for improvement, and this session was an important opportunity to start fine-tuning it.

Throughout the day, we explored how to ground truth the patterns we see in our citizen data against national trends, and how to build trust with the people and organisations we serve. The discussions were rich and varied, balancing perspectives from across the sector.

By the end of the session, we had identified clear priorities for how our data tools can better reflect lived experience, support collaboration, and drive practical improvements in the system.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined, challenged, and contributed. Building a better social care data ecosystem takes all of us, and this workshop was a vital step in making that vision a reality.
