Join our campaign for Government transparency for adult social care funding

17th October 2024

As we come to the end of the first phase of our £30k in 30 days fundraising campaign we are delighted to share that together we raised almost £13,000 through our JustGiving campaign!

AND We have won our landmark legal case demanding Government Transparency on adult social care funding!!!

We are delighted to share that on Tuesday 15th October, the Information Tribunal found in our favour for our first Information Tribunal case. This means that the Government MUST DISCLOSE the information that Access Social Care requested relating to the evidence considered.

And this is only the start. We are awaiting judgement on our second round of enquiries which asked for govt departments to disclose information the used to determine ‘sufficiency’ for adult social care funding. It is vital that this campaign continues until we get a positive outcome for this too.

Access Social Care is a legal rights organisation fighting a freedom of information legal case against three government departments to ensure adequate funding for social care.

Every day millions of older and disabled people go without the social care they need. Civil society is broadly aligned that adult social care is underfunded by at least £8.4 Billion per year. The previous government maintained that it was adequately funding social care but refused to publish the maths.

This landmark law suit is about government transparency to ensure adequate funding for adult social care.

Our aim: To continue to raise funds to continue our legal fight and raise awareness of the need for government transparency and accountability to support adequate Adult social care funding.
